Who is our customer
Miro Forestry Company Ltd (Miro) is one of the largest forestry plantation companies in West Africa currently managing approx. 10,000ha planted. Miro develops and manages high quality, cost-competitive, FSC certified, fast growing industrial timber species (mainly eucalyptus and acacia) and is in the process of setting up downstream production facilities and market entries to capture the maximum value of the wood grown.
What is our funding objective?
The objective is to support Miro in increasing the awareness of workers and communities regarding the COVID-19 virus, provide access to hygiene and sanitation facilities at community level and to build the capacity of health clinics and service providers that Miro has started collaborating with.
Why do we fund this investment?
FMO is supporting this project because of its high impact on rural communities in Sierra Leone and Ghana. The project will benefit the company, its workforce and local communities.
