Who is our customer

The Lower Solu hydropower project (the Hydropower Project) concerns the development, construction and operations of an 82MW run-of-the-river hydropower plant in the Solukhumbu district in Nepal.

What is our funding objective?

The main objective of the Livelihood Restoration and Development Plan is to enhance the livelihood of the Project Affected People (PAPs) through agri-based activities and other trainings that promote diversified farming and enhance food security.

Why do we fund this investment?

Improving access to electricity in a timely and cost-efficient manner is considered one of the most significant development challenges facing Nepal today. In order to align with the environmental and social (E&S) standards and protect the PAPs, a Livelihood Restoration and Development Plan was formulated. This is in line with FMO’s strategic priority to promote responsible investment.
