Who is our customer

The Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) will be FMO’s contracting counterparty, but the participants of the event will be FMO’s client base, FMO’s partners (primarily Dutch partners and including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and FMO itself. KIT will be co-organizer of the event and is an important partner of FMO in its journey towards developing the WSMEs market and to build in a better gender lens in its financing strategy and approach.

What is our funding objective?

The aim of this event is to bring together women entrepreneurs, financial institutions, civil society organisations, academics and policy makers to engage in a dialogue on how to (better) serve women entrepreneurs in emerging markets. This will be done in the form of provision of funding to support the arranging of the event ‘Power of Partnerships, making finance work for women entrepreneurs’ at the KIT in Amsterdam on the 12th of March 2018.

Why do we fund this investment?

FMO has an agenda to make finance more inclusive, and contributing to gender equality by bringing together different types of stakeholders to create new partnerships. The event is an important way for FMO to make more people aware of the issue and the opportunity, and to contribute to the solutions to the finance gap.
