Peyman is one of the largest producers of dried fruits, nuts and seeds in Turkey. Peyman has a strong brand name image.

What is our funding objective?

The loan will finance Peyman Kuruyemis's investment in a new factory as the company is expanding into new markets.

Why do we fund this investment?

The impact of this project is expected to be primarily derived from market expansion through backward linkages to local farmers and transfer and dispersion of skills.

What is the Environmental and Social categorization rationale?

Categorized B+. FMO’s preliminary environmental and social due diligence indicates that the investment will have impacts which must be managed in a manner consistent with the following Performance Standards: - PS 1: Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts; - PS 2: Labor and working conditions; - PS 3: Resource Efficiency and Pollution Prevention - PS 4: Community Health, Safety and Security. The company is certified to a number of best practice management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 140001, Halal Food and BRC and it is currently working on getting the Ecocert and ISO 26000 certifications.
