Who is our customer

LeapFrog Financial Inclusion Fund (LF) aims to invest in micro-insurance companies with the objective to facilitate their growth. LeapFrog Labs was established alongside the fund as a UK-based not-for-profit arm dedicated to technical assistance for investee companies.

What is our funding objective?

The proposed CD projects fit into a wider technical assistance program set-up for Reliance Capital Management (RCM) which is being coordinated by Leapfrog Labs. FMO supported projects focused on governance, actuarial expertise and IT improvements.

Why do we fund this investment?

Less than 19.6% of Indonesians (total population of 250 million people) currently have a bank account. At the same time, insurance penetration is at a mere 1.8%. RCM currently reaches out to 450,000 direct clients, a figure that will increase after because of the acquisition of Bank Kesejahteraan. Therefore, through this CD Project, FMO promotes access to finance / inclusive development in a largely underserved market.
