Who is our customer
Bharti Airtel International Netherlands B.V. (BAIN) is the holding company of Bharti Airtel Africa B.V. (BAA), which encompasses the African subsidiaries of Bharti Airtel Limited India (Bharti). Bharti is the leading telecom operator in India and globally No 4 operator by subscribers. In Africa, Bharti is present in 17 countries through BAA and is implementing its 'Minutes Factory' mode which comprises low tariffs, which lead to an increase of traffic and growth of subscribers.
What is our funding objective?
Provide financing for the expansion of various African subsidies of Bharti via BAIN to increase the telecoms industry in Africa.
Why do we fund this investment?
The development impact is high because of improving access to communication, increase in tax revenues and offering value added services.
