FMO has closed a US$16 million 10-year senior secured loan for the benefit of Naviera Integral in Mexico, a maritime transport company. Our loan will be used to purchase 2 state-of-the-art fuel efficient vessels from Damen Shipyards. With this transaction, FMO will be supporting Damen, an important Dutch ship builder, and Naviera, a successful private enterprise in Mexico, thereby contributing to economic growth.
This newest generation Fast Crew Supplier 5009 vessels are believed to be 10-20% more fuel efficient compared to the standard design. They were built at Damen’s shipyard in Vietnam, which is also financed by FMO. Naviera Integral is a market leader in the fast transportation of people and equipment between the mainland and offshore drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. The vessels will operate under a contract with Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the Mexican state-owned Oil and Gas company and one of the largest companies in Latin America.
