Acquisition of 2,300 of parts in Windmill “De Vier Winden” makes FMO fully green energy self-supporting

FMO announces that it is now fully self-supporting on green energy. The acquisition of 2.300 parts of the Dutch windmill “De Vier Winden”, provides FMO with enough green energy to meet its own energy demand.

The windmill is situated along the highway N9 and is named after the old grain mill in Monster. The acquisition is made possible by De Windcentrale. This company was founded in 2010 with the aim to accelerate the transition towards sustainable energy in the Netherlands. Through their model of co-ownership of a windmill everyone can profit from the advantages of wind energy. This leads to a broader foundation for wind energy which is crucial in order to achieve the European sustainability target for the Netherlands to reach 16% sustainable energy generation before 2020.
