Africa is making slow progress in meeting poverty Sustainable Development Goals

September 11, 2017

Many challenges still persist in eradicating African poverty in order to meet stated targets for 2030 that comprise part of the Sustainable Development Goals, according to the African Sustainable Development Report. Despite economic progress, extreme levels of poverty are still prevalent for women and children. Limited infrastructure development has also meant that many African industries are either underperforming or inefficient.

The report calls for gender equality in health and education, and also outlines the opportunities presented by technological innovations in mobile technology.
