Who is our prospective customer?
Liwwa Inc. (“Liwwa”) is a FinTech that provides trade and working capital finance to un(der)served small businesses in Jordan and recently Egypt. It deploys its technology across operations, credit underwriting, and an online marketplace for loans (peer-to-peer lending).
What is our funding objective?
FMO will participate in the pre-Series B fund raise of Liwwa with an additional USD 500,000 from the FMO Ventures Program to unlock balance sheet growth and allow the Company to scale its activities in Jordan and Egypt.
Why do we want to fund this investment?
Liwwa provides trade and working capital finance to un(der)served small businesses in Jordan and recently Egypt and thereby contributes to sustainable economic growth and job creation across the MENA region.
What is the Environmental and Social categorization rationale?
Liwwa is categorized as an E&S B-risk, which is based on the E&S risk profile of the underlying transaction. It has no exposure to high risk E&S sectors.
