Who is our customer

Dhaka Bank is a medium sized bank in Bangladesh established in 1995, traditionally focused on corporate clients, it is now gradually providing more loans to SMEs and in the agricultural sector.

What is our funding objective?

Through ADB Trade Finance umbrella, FMO is able to provide a trade line to Dhaka Bank. The trade line is specifically for guaranteeing confirmation of import L/Cs, which meet the following conditions: maximum deal size of US$ 5 million with a maximum tenor of 360 days and minimum net margin of 1%.

Why do we fund this investment?

Foremost, trade finance is strategically important for Dhaka Bank. Furthermore, with this transaction FMO can get to know Dhaka Bank (new client for FMO) in a country where there is market potential and where financing is still limited. With this trade line, FMO cooperates with the ADB through the trade finance umbrella.
