Your role

As Structured Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in the Financial Institutions Nasira team. This dynamic position involves a diverse range of responsibilities, such as originating innovative Nasira+ investments, managing client relationships and contributing to business and product development. You will be instrumental in monitoring existing portfolios under Nasira and expanding the program's impact globally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify, evaluate, structure, and execute Nasira portfolio guarantees.
  • Present and pitch transactions, explaining Nasira’s structure clearly.
  • Conduct due diligence on financial institutions and MSME loan portfolios (travel required).
  • Structure transactions, negotiate terms, and prepare legal documentation.
  • Operate credit portfolio models, draft investment proposals, and present to committees.
  • Manage Nasira transaction investment cycles end-to-end.
  • Collaborate with risk management to adjust credit portfolio models.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, offering tailored solutions.
  • Monitor and manage guaranteed portfolios, providing risk insights and proposing improvements.
  • Enhance product features, processes, and strategies to meet business goals.
  • Develop internal policies and guidelines for the product.

Our offer

  • Gross yearly salary of between EUR 80-95K on a 40-hour basis (including holiday allowance and 13th month), depending on seniority, years of experience and background.

Your team

Our Financial Institutions department invests in financial institutions that have meaningful impacts on local economies and communities. The Financial Institutions department developed Nasira, a risk-sharing facility that uses loan portfolio guarantees/synthetic securitizations to stimulate investments in underserved MSMEs across Eastern Europe & Central Asia, Middle East & Northern Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The European Commission and Dutch Government Fund (MASSIF) partially counter guarantee the program.

Given the success of Nasira and its full deployment, FMO, EC, and MASSIF will launch Nasira+ in 2025, expanding the program’s volume and geographical reach to include Asia and Latin America.

The current Nasira team is a specialized unit comprising eight professionals:

  • one Team Manager,
  • two Senior Structured Finance Officers,
  • three (Senior) Structured Finance Associates,
  • and two Portfolio Officers.

As a Structured Finance Officer, you will be key to achieving goals and ensuring the program’s continued growth and impact.

Your background

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • Master’s degree in economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or comparable fields.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience in the financial sector.
  • Understanding of and experience with structured credit products and synthetic securitisations.
  • Experience managing client relationships in emerging markets, with a track record in business development and transaction execution.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of MSME credit products, processes, and lending in emerging markets.
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced Excel or data analytics skills.
