Your role

The Technical Assistance Analyst analyzes data and monitors grant budget portfolios and team workplans. You prepare monthly financial overviews and reports for FMO and funding partners. You also support your team with administration, financial management and monitoring of individual Technical Assistance projects and agreements.

In this role you work closely with the Manager, team members and colleagues from other relevant teams and departments and you will be the key relationship manager towards the Operations department.

Your responsibilities

Portfolio management and administration:

  • Monitor portfolio budget, expenses, commitments, cashflow projections, and forecasting.
  • Prepare portfolio reporting, presentations, and other deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with funding criteria, contract conditions, policies, and regulations.
  • Support internal and external reporting and creative communication on project achievements.
  • Serve as liaison between our team and different departments and support training on existing policies and templates, provide guidance on processes as needed.

Technical Assistance project and supplier support:

  • Assist in project administration, including contract changes and disbursement requests.
  • Support teams working with the Technial Assistance team (e.g., Environmental Social Governance and Sustainable Finance Advisory) on standardized Technical Assistance products.
  • Manage supplier relationships and roll-out standardized partnerships.
  • Prepare project reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
  • Support team members in developing project scopes of work, consultant identification, procurement process (including acting as a secretariat in evaluation committees), and contracting, in compliance with funding partner (donor) requirements.

Business management:

  • Coordinate the team’s business planning.
  • Monitor progress, integrated results, and facilitate communication of the team’s workplan.
  • Act as a risk and compliance champion ensuring alignment with controls and policies.
  • Propose new ideas and approaches for TA management, research best practices.

Our offer

  • Gross yearly salary of between EUR 47K - 55K (including holiday allowance and 13th month), depending on seniority, years of experience and background.

Your team

The Technical Assistance team is a diverse team of 11 members that works closely with our investment departments to serve clients in each of our strategic sectors: Financial Institutions, Agribusiness, Food & Water and Energy focusing across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Europe and Central Asia region. In this team we deploy grant and Technical Assistance funding to support our clients with high quality, capacity development services to strengthen organizational or project-related capabilities and providing access to knowledge and networks.

Currently, the team originates ~EUR 8 mln of Technical Assistance projects yearly. The team works closely together with other teams in the Impact Department: Sustainable Finance Advisory and the Programmatic Technical Assistance team.

Your background

This role requires (strong) financial analytical skills, risk awareness, a general understanding of Technical Assistance, and excellent communication and writing skills.

Furthermore, you possess:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (Finance, Business Administration, etc.)
  • At least 2 years of work experience in similar positions.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and strong English communication skills are important.
