Your role

As Internal Auditor within FMO, you will have a unique opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of the various processes within the bank as well as to support the FMO’s Complaints Office. In your role you will be participating in all sorts of operational audits and will get in touch with all disciplines in the organization. By being part of FMO’s Internal Audit department you have a crucial role in protecting and enabling FMO's business.

As Internal Auditor you will be based in The Hague, the Netherlands. This job does not require travelling. You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Preparation of internal audit engagements;
  • Carrying out and documenting fieldwork by performing sample tests and data analysis, reviewing documentation and conducting interviews (supervised);
  • Delivery of clear and concise audit findings within agreed timelines;
  • Discussing (draft) audit findings with the auditee;
  • Monitoring of internal organizational developments; and
  • Coordinating FMO’s Complaints Office and to engage with the Independent Expert Panel and other Complaints Offices through the Independent Complaints Mechanism.

Our offer

We offer a competitive gross annual compensation of EUR 52-60K (including holiday allowance), depending on your experience, within Scale 8 in FMO. Additionally, we also offer a range of other well-being benefits, such as:

Your team

 You will be part of a team consisting of 5 internal auditors and you will report directly to the Director Internal Audit. 

Your background

You are an enthusiastic professional and you strongly rely on your interpersonal and analytical skills. We are looking for a colleague with a drive for excellence. Someone that likes to take a deep dive in complex processes, goes the extra mile and can clearly report.

In addition, the must haves for this role are:

  • Master's degree, along with an audit certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), chartered/registered accountant or the willingness to acquire it (CIA). 
  • Up to two years of relevant work experience in the internal or external audit profession;
  • Good verbal and written communicative skills (business language is English);
  • Well developed organizational sensitivity and stakeholder management;
  • Knowledge of Spanish, German and/or French would be an asset;
  • Financial sector knowledge is preferred.
