Your role

In the role of Project Manager HR, you will lead the successful execution of a wide variety of projects. You will unleash the talent of your team members and help them to thrive in their ability to deliver change, by ensuring successful implementation of these projects into the organization.

As a Project Manager you will be focusing primarily on HR-related initiatives. You will oversee a diverse range of key HR  projects such as Values in Actions and Capability Building. Your role will be pivotal in driving these initiatives to enhance HR capabilities and support future HR projects. We seek a dynamic employee who can bring innovative solutions and foster a collaborative environment to achieve our strategic HR goals.

The role requires a project manager with experience within the HR function. It is beneficial to have insights into strategic HR practices and know how they align with overall business strategy. 

Your responsibilities will include overseeing the initiation, definition, and implementation of the projects:

  • Day-to-day management of the project activities and project team, including planning / budget control, risk management, resource management, stakeholder management, reporting and evaluation.
  • Use industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the whole project execution.
  • Develop project team and support the FMO transition towards more agile work methodologies. Initiate the growth and development of change capabilities in the organization.
  • Actively contribute to improving FMO's current project management processes.

Our offer

We provide an annual gross salary ranging from EUR 85-90K.  This is for a 40-hour work week and depending on your experience. In addition to this, we offer:

Your team

Your reporting line is to the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), which monitors, advises and reports on the performance of FMO’s portfolio of projects.  The initial round of projects will be for the benefit of the HR Department, and you will actively work within the HR Team. The PMO supports project owners and project managers in the planning and delivery of projects, addressing issues and risks and providing insights on interdependencies and synergies across projects. The PMO leads the (quarterly) selection process of new projects and enables informed decision making by the Managing Board.

FMO has an ambitious (digitalization) project portfolio requiring strengthening of internal project management/change capabilities. The PMO will support this by adding internal project managers to its team. This will enable project managers to build upon previous experience and knowledge of the organization, improving their effectiveness and increase their impact on the success of projects.

You will join the PMO team, comprised of nine members. This includes four project managers of varied experience levels, three portfolio officers, and two project officers. The PMO team is part of the Strategy department. The department holds, next to the PMO team, Strategic Planning, Evaluations and Knowledge Management, Sustainability Strategy and Policy.

Your background

You are Independent and self-starting with a hands-on mentality, you have a result/oriented mindset! Relationship capabilities, cultural sensitivity and pro-activeness are keys to be successful as a Project Manager within FMO. You can easily adapt the set-up of the project to the characteristics of the project and the maturity of the stakeholders. You are able to influence, and you have analytical skills with attention to structure and detail. You have the ability to connect and bring together diverse stakeholder interests (internal) without necessarily having formal authority. You have a strong command of English, both verbally and in writing.

You are business oriented; you embody project delivery excellence. This means you are organized, enabling people to deliver, and being able to perform under pressure whilst ensuring quality. 

Besides that, you possess:

  • HBO / University degree. Affinity with banking / finance and related functions is a nice to have but not a must.
  • Knowledge of process/data/system and design principles, application of frameworks.
  • Experience in setting up and working with Business cases.
  • Project management knowledge and experience in general: planning, finances, communications, managing a Project team, 3rd parties and Stakeholders.
  • Project management experience within the HR function related to development and implementation of, for example, new policies and benefits, organization culture & cross team collaboration, capabilities and career grids, performance management.
  • Strategic HR Insight: Knowledge of strategic HR practices and how they align with overall business strategy.
